It's All About You

I recently hosted a party for a friend who sells skin care and decided that I would also try my hand at being a consultant. I have considered this for quite some time, every time I buy this product which has been quite a few over the last 30 years, and have no idea why this time I said yes, but I did.

About a half hour ago I googled (good and bad, googling things) and came across all the articles that said scam, no one really makes money, don't do it, and called my friend and said I wanted to back out. After a few minutes of talking she basically told me that I don't have to do anything if I don't want to and I can go as slow or fast as life lets me. Well, I decided to go for it, at my pace, under my command.

Point being, you can substitute anything you want for "skin care" in the above because no matter whether it's writing, sewing, running, biking, cooking, or gardening, you get what you put into it. Plant three seeds and you may get three flowers. Plant a half a yard, care for it, water it, shelter it, nurture it, and you'll get most of that half a yard. It's all about you.

We shouldn't go by what other's say - mostly - because they don't live our lives, think our thougths, or have our dreams. So as far as writing write at your pace, write what you want to say, write what reflects the true meaning of you and when you get to that point where you become overwhelmed and you want to stop - KEEP GOING - because beyond that (hopefully) is where you will begin to bloom and take flight.

Whether I go full force with this consulting thing or back off after a few months, well, I really don't know yet do I? But who will I be if I don't at least try to get beyond who I am now? It may take me to places that I enjoy being at, meeting people who become my friends, or it may lead me back to where I am not with the knowlege that it isn't for me, but hey, it's better knowing than wondering.

Everything can't be a dream.

I think you are brave at attempting something new and unfamiliar. Who knows, maybe you will like it and if not, you have lost nothing and you can do something else again. Your message is powerful and very true. Good luck and I am sure you will do just splendidly.

Thank you Murees, but my venture has already ended, lol. I will post the reason why in a few days. As always, good to hear from you! I hope all is well.
